Ryan Air signs deal $40B to buy 300 Boeing 737-Max-10 aircraft over next 10years

Despite the blowout of Boeing’s 737-MAX8, I am really surprised a competitor couldn’t rise to replace them. Pilot (re)training probably has a big role to play here??
