Any company could come along and make a better product, but there is a huge barrier to entry in terms of the operating system side. Because of its ubiquitous nature, Android based systems have a bad reputation to many people. However, one of the greatest barriers to entry are the software patents (which in my mind should not exist).

This recent Linux monopoly on the server side concerns me...
