Ask HN: How to validate my SaaS product idea?

Hi! I'm currently at the stage of first pivot and validation of my new idea. I would like to test on as many people as possible the interest in my product. A few days ago I published posts on FB and IndieHackers asking people to rate my landing page. Now I would like to validate the idea and ask users how they rate my solution, if they think it makes sense and if they would be interested. Do you have any ideas on how I can reach out to these users, perhaps you have processed such a problem yourself in the past? Greetings!

If possible I would suggest to look at conversion metrics instead of user provided ratings. Real validation is people signing up and using your product (regularly), you can measure that.

Of course reaching out to users is very valuable, it can help you understand them, why they use or stopped using your product, what they like/miss/etc. But to get quality insights like that you will have to ask open questions, interview them, do user tests.

Metrics tell you if something works or not, reaching out to users helps you understand why it does or doesn't.

This may actually be simpler than you think:

A) Identify your users, who they are?

B) Find active niche places where they are in high density. These could be specific people on LN you can find searching by role/position, topic-oriented FB groups, industry-specific conferences and events.

C) Share your product hypothesis and ask for their feedback.

Specifically, do not expect a spot-on feedback from people who are not in your target group - indiehackers or HN are nice places full of great people, but are they really your potential clients? Or should you rather look elsewhere.

You need to read The Mom Test right now. Literally stop and order it (get it used if this sounds too spammy). You have acres of "politeness" you need to overcome.
