Show HN: Summate – tool for summarizing ALL of your YouTube / substacks
summate.io
decided to share a little project of mine that i've been working on.
over the past several years the number of content creators is consistently and exponentially growing. while I like the fact, that i can learn any topic nowadays on the internet for free, i found 2 problems: people post too many content, so I can't read / watch all of them; and there is a continuous repackaging of the same information, which i already know.
i thought why not give an AI a task to watch all the content I am watching and then send me summaries to my inbox in a format of a digest.
built that – shared with a bunch of friends – they liked it.
thought of sharing here, as i know hackernews as a community of life-long learners, and I hope some people from here can benefit and spend their time more meaningfully.
for now it summarizes youtube videos from the channels I subscribe to, and also 2 days ago i've added a feature to summarize all substacks, that i am subscribed to.
p.s. I am committed to make it free for as long as possible, unless it really breaks my wallet. i wrote some simple algorithm, which would allow to summarize each content only once and then distribute to everyone, so hopefully costs won't be to big :)
