Is this about the Referer header? Isn't the Referer header standard practice across browsers and websites? I'm curious why Google is thought to be at fault for the Referer header.

Why even bother with the charade if fines only ever amount to a tap on the wrist?

This is not a fine, it's an out of court settlement.

As for why bother, the lawyers who organized the class-action case will make about $5 million from it.

The only achievement here is for the lawyers.
