This submission was inspired by a current HN submission (One man's 8bit quest to finish his teenage Commodore64 RPG[1]), but this NYT article delves more deeply into the near-singular creative obsession that can take over a person's life - something that I find both fascinating and inspiring, and yet at the same time daunting and, potentially, futile[2].
