How to download Hacker News (posts and comments) in 2023?

There is the official API, but I don't know how to use it. Is there a simple way to do it? (possibly via wget)

You can use a firebase client in the language of your choosing [0] and use the realtime data API [1] to pull, download, and iterate.

Found a very basic demo to get up and running on SO [2].
