The entirety of https://github.com/ikkje/ikkekernel/blob/main/CHANGES.md :

    Ikkekernel changes
    ==================

    List of changes between Linux and Ikkekernel:
    * TODO

count me skeptical

The project has just started and the goals are defined. I have setup the GitHub project, successfully compiled and installed the kernel, and posted to Hacker News.

Do you have ideas or suggestions for this fine Linux fork?

Do many tools fail if you boot with a kernel that doesn't have "linux" in its name?

Part of this Linux-fork project is finding a solution to this edge-case problem.

Yes: first the changes, then the publishing

Which changes do you suggest? This is the ideas-gathering and initial design thinking phase of the project.

The CHANGES document now has some real changes and future work ideas also: https://github.com/ikkje/ikkekernel/blob/main/CHANGES.md

And I forked Firefox, since I am planning to compare these two ideas to find which one is most likely to succeed: https://github.com/ikkje/ikkefox

So you've done nothing and decided to post on HN anyway?

Asking for feedback from users early, and by now many ideas have been collected, and the fork on Github is building with CI and working well. I am now creating an automated development environment using Docker and Vagrant.

Interesting project, I wish you luck. We do need forks of Linux, because the one-size-fits-all codebase model is starting to show its limits. But most people are stuck with mainline, because there are so many security patches to keep up with.

If you can do something to implement anything from ReactOS, so that a user can natively execute Windows/DOS software alongside *nix, it would be something of value.

> because we need a Linux fork

actually we don't

Is this a play on not-linux?
