Show HN: Waldo – A privacy focused, location based social network
waldo.community
Social media has lost its way, and we long for the days of authentic connections like we had with Facebook in 2003. Remember when it was about cherishing moments with family and friends rather than just "doing it for the gram"? We understand the need for change, and that's why we're excited to present Waldo, a fresh approach to social networking based on your location.
The Broken Social Media Landscape:
Let's face it, the current social media landscape is flooded with vanity metrics and superficiality. The follower model often leads to users prioritizing likes and popularity over meaningful interactions and genuine connections. We believe there's a better way to connect with people around us, fostering real relationships and cherishing the moments that truly matter.
Introducing Waldo:
At Waldo, we're determined to redefine social networking, putting the focus back on authenticity and privacy. Our platform is built around your location, allowing you to rediscover genuine connections and engage with like-minded individuals nearby.
1) Privacy at the Core: We value your privacy above all else. Waldo ensures that your location is approximate by default.
2) Location-Based Discovery: Connect with friends, family, and new acquaintances based on proximity.
