Show HN: Process Documents Intelligently with AI

Ive been wanting this for a long time - however I have a few feature-creeps for you, please.

1. Mobile pic taking of a receipt - rather than upload a PDF - make it mobile first and take a pic of receipt - or even the screen on a checkout device, process that.

2. Allow for the building of a DB of products and prices. If I take a pic of my grocery receipt and process that, I want to be able to recognize the same items and prices of such over time - so if MILK shows up on all my receipts, I want to be able to start tracking the price paid for MILK over time on all receipts - same for all items on receipts. Allow me to go in the web UI and clean the data a bit if needed (if I buy MILK at two different shops, it may show up differently on the receipt, but just cleanse it to "MILK" and log the price in the timeline. [MAKE THIS THE SOCIAL COMPONENT - Connecting prices in various locales, alerts on pries just based on differentiations in receipts line item cost)

3. Build a table for all the stores I shop at, and keep the frequency. (anon obv)

4. geo-pricing. If enabled, allow for prices from receipts to be shared - nothing else. So one can see MILK is $1 in LA and $1.25 in SF, as an example (or gas prices) - allow for the only identifying data be a zipcode.

I've wanted a thing like this for a long time - but more specifically as an inflation/shrinkflation tracker.

For example, pre-pandemic there was a half-gallon carton of juice that we buy on the regular, it was $1.34 - now its $2.00. Its fake juice sugar water basically (minute maid lemonaides from walmart) - nothing changed in the pandemic to affect sugar water in a carton, but when the claim was ~8% inflation, the prices reflected in poor markets, such as walmart, were often 33%...

Economists are bad, they should feel bad.

They all lie to make it look like A) the economy is not a shell game bullshit B) to make themselves look like some savant when they are actually typically operating more on self-inflated-opinion as opposed to data.

Anyway - I LOVE this project, but it needs the ability to get rfeceipts easier.

Here is an idea: make an email-front-end funnel for receipts:

"Would you like your receipt emailed?"

"Yes, please email it to [my_easy_to_recall_code]@ledgerbox.io"

then I can just have my receipts in my profile -and you can slurp the pricing data and start showing purchasing trends and pricing trends.
