CEO says Boeing must acknowledge 'our mistake' as 737 MAX 9 jets are grounded

Boeing moved their HQ away from the engineering center. 737 software was outsourced to cut costs. 737 technical details were purposely omitted from FAA filings and training materials to minimize the cost of pilot training.

When software companies screw up their culture, users and employees can relatively easily leave, especially compared to airlines and flyers that are stuck with their aircraft makers.
