Since yesterday, Iranian users' access to Hacker News has been cut off. Iranian users encountered the message "Sorry, you have been blocked." This should be due to US sanctions against the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Isn't that because HN is currently temporarily behind Cloudflare due to the ongoing (?) DDOS attack?

I didn't know that. The error message is from Cloudflare so I think you definitely have a point. Thanks for mentioning.

Source for HN being DDOS'ed?

Thanks

This is disappointing. Open access to information can help build healthy societies that thrive.

The Iranian people that I met in the U.S. are kind and friendly. The Iranian people deserve a better government.
