I just love how in Japan they went from “笑う” (warau, to laugh) to “笑” (wara) to “w” to “www” to “草” (kuchi, grass, because “www” kinda looks like grass) to “大草原” (daisougen, great plain/prairie/steppe).

That feels like such an internet thing to do.
