I think there is a middle ground between:
- a full AI-generated persona that might have generic or irrelevant insights
- and write user personas manually with real users.
I use Hellooo.io for this:
- All my user interviews, transcripts and highlights are in it
- Then I select one or several user interviews and ask the "AI Researcher" to generate a user persona with this prompt:
Create a user persona from the selected interviews.
Format the persona with different paragraphs.
The first paragraph should contain a fictive name for the persona.
The second paragraph should be a short summary of the persona.
The third paragraph should contain basic demographic details (including age, location, and education).
The fourth paragraph should contain specific identifiers with the top 3 pain points, the top 3 goals, and the top 3 unmet needs related to our product or service.
Make sure the pain points, goals, and unmet needs are formatted in bullet-point lists.
