I think the author simply assumes that Murati doesn't answer because she doesn't know. She's not answering for legal and competitive reasons.

The author is clearly unfamiliar with ML from a technical perspective as well as the state of the industry, which account for the things not detailed or not precisely estimated in the interview

Exactly. As a questions it amounts to "say something that'll score you a billion dollar lawsuit".
