AR with ordinary looking glasses potential?

This prototype of real see-through augmented reality solution (not using cameras to re-project the real world) seems promising.

This could be the catalyst that enables AR solutions with regular looking glasses.

In layman's terms, it uses holographic optics to disperse light all over the surface area of the custom-built lenses. It then uses AI to learn how to modify the image it projects on the lenses, so that the output matches the original image.
