Ask HN: How is the market for freelancers in your country?

I'm curious about the current state of the freelance market in different countries and regions. Here in Sweden, it's been a bit of a gold rush for freelance developers over the past decade or so. After the increased rates this all crashed big time and there is still no sign of any improvements.

How is the market in your region? Are you experiencing similar difficulties or is it still easy to find gigs?
