I'm assuming you mean that The Postman and Waterworld weren't successful, and that may be true by the metrics that count, but I personally really like both of them.

Correct. And I also like them quite a bit, so I have to make allowances. And the. Ask myself, “did I have bad taste, or was it the mainstream of 1990s movie goers?”
