Totalitarian dictatorships have always used obfuscation to imprison anyone they want without just cause. This has nothing to do with AI, it's just their excuse this time. No different from 12th century lords reading chicken bones to enact their will over their subjects.
While I agree that this is often used by dictators to exercise their will and justify it by any means they can find, I don’t see the connection between a totalitarian regime and Argentina.
