How can I revive my energy to do my job at a higher capacity without feeling so burnt out and tired? I already exercise and do some social things, but the weight of the job and work pulls me down so hard, feel pretty trapped and depressed.
Oblique strategies to care for your soul:
Before the next mind-destroying meeting, put a fart cushion under the CEOs seat. Or maybe a couple of 2 million Scoville Reaper peppers in the fruit punch.
Give a random homeless stranger a fist full of dollars (more than you can afford).
Just take a f-you Ferris Bueller day off, roll a fat one and watch daytime TV to see how lucky you really are.
Go to church. Sing. Pray. If that's not you, just pretend... for an hour of your life.
Take a walk into the hills without your phone. Get lost and have to ask some real people for directions home.
Fix that broken thing that's been on your 'I'll never do it' list for 6 years.
Fire up a ghetto-blaster, go up on the roof, breakdance and boogie.
Stroke animals. If you haven't got any go to a pet shop and pretend like you're going to buy a kitten or puppy, ask to test them all out.
