Show HN: Highlight Gmail Rows with Colors Using Email Row Highlighter for Gmail

It all started on a typical workday, buried under a mountain of emails. As I sifted through my Gmail inbox, I found myself constantly losing track of where I was. I’d hover over a row, get distracted, and then struggle to find my place again. That’s when it hit me—what if the rows in Gmail could be highlighted with vibrant colors as I hovered over them? It seemed like a small, simple change, but I realized it could make email management so much smoother and more enjoyable.

I started thinking about this idea and realized it wasn’t just about practicality—it was about adding a bit of personality to an otherwise dull task. I envisioned a tool that would allow users to customize the colors, making email browsing not just efficient but fun.

With this idea in mind, I set out to develop the tool. Little did I know, it would be a journey full of challenges. From figuring out how to integrate with Gmail’s interface to ensuring that the color customization was user-friendly, every step came with its own set of hurdles. But after countless hours of coding, testing, and tweaking, I finally created something I’m proud of: *Email Row Highlighter for Gmail™ and Inbox™*.

The tool does exactly what I envisioned—it highlights rows in Gmail and Inbox with shiny, eye-catching colors when you hover over them. You can easily customize the highlight color to suit your style by accessing the settings through a simple popup button. Whether you prefer a calming blue, a vibrant red, or something entirely unique, you can make your email experience truly yours.

Now, I’m turning to the HN community for feedback. I’d love for you to give it a try and let me know what you think. Whether it’s a feature suggestion, a bug report, or just your overall impression, your input will help me make this tool even better. So please, check it out and share your thoughts!
