How do you get to be a "genius"? I'd love to be a genius, but it seems less dependent on what you do and more on what others do. Presumably one needs to be "annointed" by an independent body that assesses your body of work (e.g. a professional body, or the MSM). Another path is to be "annointed" by a body that is seeking external validation for its own action or posture.

Remember when geniuses used to be really, really smart people?

The "genius" who resigned from his government post after being accused of sexual assault?

Maybe he should have used his vast intellect to not experiment with improper conduct around the fairer sex.

Be kind. Don't be snarky. Converse curiously; don't cross-examine. Edit out swipes.

Comments should get more thoughtful and substantive, not less, as a topic gets more divisive.

Please don't post shallow dismissals, especially of other people's work. A good critical comment teaches us something.

Sorry, I should have been more precise. Keyes has been accused of sexual misconduct by fifteen individual women.
