Xorg Neglect and XLibre Slander

Obviously reverts happen, in everything. That doesn't mean there aren't developers who are bad, who make untested commits which obviously and immediately break things, and need reverting more than usual.
If you want to defend XLibre, then show us that the number of reverts is standard, or (better!) that the reverts are for subtle issues (like the futex one you linked, it required a significant amount of benchmarking to find!), and isn't just that the code never worked at all.
Saying "Oh, but things get reverted in other systems" means nothing at all, and it's what you spend most of the time talking about.
This has passed into the "yes, it's happening, and here's why it's a good thing" phase of conspiracy-theory damage control:
https://mastodon.social/@alatiera/114661446785833161
The Xorg developers do not want to maintain the legacy X codebase. They do not want to perpetuate the legacy X architecture. If withholding features is what finally gets people to suck it up and switch to Wayland, if it gets app and toolkit developers and fucking NVIDIA to drop their X codepaths and put all their development effort behind Wayland, that's what they will do.
Apple, Microsoft, and Google do this all the time. They drop support for the old and busted and put all their effort into the new hotness. By and large, their user bases do not complain. Only Linux users are autistic enough to go "but muh 40-year-old 'network transparent' [lol, not really, watch the Daniel Stone talk again please] display server written for 8bpp framebuffers long before modern fucking GPUs emerged".
As for Xlibre... to give you an idea of how clownshoes the development community is on that thing...

Not to mention being a Nazi bar. People are starting to wake up and realize what a security risk Nazi- and far-right-authored code is. Alpine already has a security exclusion on it for that reason. Other distros will follow suit.
It's not a Nazi bar, it's the complete opposite of that by welcoming anyone from any race and background. Ends up even worse, Wayland and Freedesktop are pedo bars, and they've been projecting about "safe spaces" this entire time. They were harboring a violent sexual predator. The Mastodon profile you linked is to a profile with ghoulish antisemitic screeds. Delusionally calling anyone and anything you disagree with "Nazi" and "far-right" has run its course.
The official telegram also has antisemetic memes, messages mentioning "gene therapies" for COVID and other stuff that doesn't seem problematic to moderators.
I guess it is "normal" for the community there given the Xlibre founder posts stuff like https://web.archive.org/web/20190404153507/https://lists.dyn..., 9/11 truther or anti-vax conspiracy stuff himself. From outside it looks like something one would not want to interact with.
You mean the troll that in that same thread is called out for being an off-topic spammer and blocked? https://www.freelists.org/post/xlibre/Proposal-Standards-for...
You're making the case for Xlibre here lol.
>The official telegram also has antisemetic memes
Yes, leftist spammers are posting antisemitic memes and getting banned, nothing new.
>"gene therapies" for COVID and other stuff that doesn't seem problematic to moderators.
Similarly being called out for being off topic.
Meanwhile, at Freedesktop.org and Debian: https://youtube.com/watch?v=ehEoRkMtoT8
>I guess it is "normal" for the community there given the Xlibre founder posts stuff like
I guess it is "normal" for the freedesktop.org and Debian community given one of the Debconf25 main stage speakers and Debian release managers is a convicted violent pedophile that they're platforming: https://www.offenderradar.com/offender-details/jeremy-c-bich...
From outside it looks like something one would not want to interact with.
Where was this valued community member blocked? I thought the Xlibre project rejects censoring people for their political positions...
> Yes, leftist spammers are posting antisemitic memes and getting banned, nothing new.
They aren't getting banned. And claiming these are "leftist spammers" would sound more believable if the project founder would not have a history of posting how regretful it is that Holocaust denial is not legal is his home country together with crude theories about World War 2 on Linux distribution mailing lists.
Apparently the Xlibre community also likes to call out 11 year old children "pedophiles"...
From outside, calling children "pedophiles" seems a rather strange concept, but you be you. Though some might find the Xlibre and Lunduke communities being obsessed with investigating and collecting information on preteen children somewhat questionable.
Killfile and all, same as it ever was. Troll was called out multiple times for posting off topic garbage.
https://www.freelists.org/post/xlibre/Proposal-Standards-for...
>I thought the Xlibre project rejects censoring people for their political positions...
Sir, this is a Wendy's. The project states:
This is an independent project, not at all affiliated with BigTech or any of their subsidiaries or tax evasion tools, nor any political activists groups, state actors, etc. It's explicitly free of any "DEI" or similar discriminatory policies. Anybody who's treating others nicely is welcomed.
It doesn't matter which country you're coming from, your political views, your race, your sex, your age, your food menu, whether you wear boots or heels, whether you're furry or fairy, Conan or McKay, comic character, a small furry creature from Alpha Centauri, or just a boring average person. Anybody who's interested in bringing X forward is welcome.
>They aren't getting banned.
They are getting banned.
>And claiming these are "leftist spammers" would sound more believable
They're believable because they're actually happening. Calling Jews Nazis and they should be hunted like Nazis is ghoulishly antisemitic: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=p06UwUHpHnU
>Apparently the Xlibre community also likes to call out 11 year old children "pedophiles"...
>From outside, calling children "pedophiles" seems a rather strange concept, but you be you.
Is this LLM hallucination? The victim of the pedophile was 11. Sad to see even LLMs will twist themselves into hallucinations defending pedophiles.
>Though some might find the Xlibre and Lunduke communities being obsessed with investigating and collecting information on preteen children somewhat questionable.
Sorry, we don't want to be a pedo bar, and we support preteen victims of violent sexual abuse.
Ah, so not blocked. Thanks for confirming.
> Is this LLM hallucination? The victim of the pedophile was 11. Sad to see even LLMs will twist themselves into hallucinations defending pedophiles.
No, that is not correct, see https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44565662.
Please stop lying for once. Ideally also stop "investigating" preteens on the internet that you have no relation with.
If you have no idea what you are even saying, just shut up instead of stalking preteens. Or do you prefer coming up with new excuses why you have a vested interest in preteens?
> Sorry, we don't want to be a pedo bar, and we support preteen victims of violent sexual abuse.
By "investigating" preteens, it looks more like you want to expand your bar from Nazi bar to Nazi & Interested-in-Preteens Bar. Enjoy the Xlibre/Lunduke community!
A killfile is blocking, thanks for confirming.
>No, that is not correct, see https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=44565662.
No, I was correct, you are wrong: https://wng.org/articles/the-high-cost-of-negligence-1617309...
>Please stop lying for once.
Hilarious projection considering you just got caught lying to protect a pedophile, one of your own:
After she reported her brother’s abuse to police in 2010, naval investigators questioned Jeremy, who was stationed overseas. He admitted everything.
In a statement to naval lawyers, Jeremy detailed the abuse of his sisters and admitted to inappropriately touching his third sister and two other non-family members when he was a teenager.
So, now that you've been caught repeating false theories to defend a pedophile, I wonder if you'll admit you were lying, or if you'll continue to support and defend a pedophile. The choice is yours.
>Ideally also stop "investigating" preteens on the internet that you have no relation with.
Again, we're not "investigating" his preteen victims. Stop inverting victim and perpetrator, that's a classic groomer tactic. The state did all the investigation for us.
>If you have no idea what you are even saying, just shut up instead of stalking preteens.
Again, is the LLM broken, or are you confusing victim and rapist because of poor reading comprehension? He was taking and abusing into his teenage years.
>Or do you prefer coming up with new excuses why you have a vested interest in preteens?
Translation: "You shouldn't care about children anyway, let groomers and rapists take advantage of them because it's woke to do so."
>By "investigating" preteens
You're obsessing over preteens. Bicha, is that you?
>it looks more like you want to expand your bar from Nazi bar to Nazi
Not a Nazi bar, all well behaving adults are welcome.
>Interested-in-Preteens Bar.
We care about the safety of children as all well adjusted non-groomer adults should. Insane that you're just admitting that you're a pedo bar and are defending pedophiles on the internet. Enjoy groomer pedo community! Thanks for taking your mask off!
Lol, charliebrownau's antisemitic mails don't get blocked, they get approval:
- https://www.freelists.org/post/xlibre/Hosting-git-for-xlibre... - https://www.freelists.org/post/xlibre/Hosting-git-for-xlibre...
See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_parentheses
Seems like a party is going on in the Nazi bar of "well behaving adults" as you call them.
I'll stop discussing with you defending antisemitism, "investigating" preteens and conspiracy bullshit (including the antisemitism). Feel free to enjoy further discussions with folks like charliebrownau or metux in the Xlibre community.
I think overall Xlibre is still a win for the Linux community as the toxic parts of the community like those mentioned above hopefully leave for Xlibre or related projects. I fully support you attracting all the charliebrownaus.
In that exact mailing list numerous members say he is off-topic and should be ignored/blocked and that the project does not claim him: https://www.freelists.org/post/xlibre/Proposal-Standards-for...
>See also https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triple_parentheses
He was banned from the Xlibre GitHub Project specifically for using this dog whistel and being antisemitic: https://github.com/X11Libre/misc/issues/75#issuecomment-2984...
>Seems like a party is going on in the Nazi bar of "well behaving adults" as you call them.
Not at all, banned antisemitism and not supporting the "hunting of Jews" like freedesktop.org. You have a Nazi and a pedo bar.
>I'll stop discussing with you defending antisemitism
I'm not defending antisemitism unlike freedesktop.org and GNOME.
>"investigating" preteens
Defending victims. Stop inverting predator and victim groomer. You're the one posting the debunked fake news and defending pedophiles. Disgusting that you're defending rape and the grooming of underage victims.
>conspiracy bullshit (including the antisemitism)
No conspiracy, just facts that you can't handle. No antisemitism either, he's been banned and blocked.
>I think overall Xlibre is still a win for the Linux community as the toxic parts of the community like those mentioned above hopefully leave for Xlibre or related projects.
The antisemitic pesos are at freedesktop and GNOME. Glad Canonical did the right thing and fired the pedo. They don't want to be a pedo bar.
>I fully support you attracting all the charliebrownaus.
He's banned. I don't support you attracting pedos. Nowhere should be a safe pedo bar.

>That is why all grown-up open source projects have one.
All ones that bandwagoned and let leftist entryists take over you mean. Grown-ups don't need a CoC to stop trolls with anime character profile pics from using the platform to defend pedophiles. They simply get a ban and life moves on. You can have rules without a code of conduct.
All CoC's are ever used for is to silence people the moderators don't like.
I guess the Lunduke and XLibre community proudly branding preteen children as "pedophiles" after thorough "investigations" into said children is an important part of being "pedo-free"? Just as the other mail is an important part of being free of antisemitism?
