Originally designed to help non-technical users understand how audio filters work by creating dramatic voice changes (hence the tongue-in-cheek name), but it's become useful for quick audio experimentation in general.
The three-tier intensity system makes it easy to hear exactly how each effect modifies the signal, which I found helpful when learning about filters, distortion, modulation, etc.
