DeepOCR – Permanently free, multi-scenario OCR for receipts, docs, handwriting

Hi HN — I made DeepOCR (https://deepocr.cc ), a permanently free OCR tool focused on real-world documents — receipts, invoices, handwritten notes, forms, and ID cards.

Most “free” OCR tools limit usage or store uploaded data. DeepOCR doesn’t. It’s free forever, has no quotas, and deletes uploads right after processing.

Under the hood:

Multiple recognition models optimized for printed, handwritten, and mixed text

Preprocessing pipeline to improve noisy image quality

Lightweight architecture for quick responses (usually under a few seconds)

It’s not meant to compete with commercial APIs — just a solid, privacy-first OCR that anyone can use for daily tasks. Feedback welcome.
