An AI-Generated Country Song Is Topping a Billboard Chart

The descending chromatic line on the bass is what you would do if you had no other idea[1]. Over that is pretty formless song. That it tops a billboard is the most remarkable thing.

[1] cf Nora Jones "Don't know why" - though a longer run and better done I feel.

Really aggravating you can't turn off all ai-generated music on spotify.

The devirtualizer extension for chrome and firefox works pretty well to remove all ai-narrated "virtual voice" audiobooks from Audible:

we're on the roller coaster now, better hold tight

I would love it if this was the turning point where people would go back to seeing live music. The sort of thing that can't be ai generated... the skeptic in me says we're probably just going to get 10x the slop now.

They will just play the ai-generated track and have fake stand-in musicians pretend to sing and play- like they did with Mili Vanilli and Ashlee Simpson.
