Ask HN: How do early-stage teams scale engineering quickly?

I’m Rayyan Abrar, Managing Partner at a small engineering team. I’m curious how founders handle sudden spikes in development work.

- Do you hire contractors, agencies, or full-time engineers? - How do you balance speed vs. code quality? - Any lessons learned or pitfalls to avoid?

I’d love to hear what has worked for you.

All of the above and none at the same time.

Companies will run multiple things in parallel. Some will work. Some won’t.

Even the stuff that works, might work for a little time instead of the long run.

A lot will go to waste. A lot gets duplicated. A lot will be redone in the future.

My suggestion is: go as slow as you can but not slower. Do as little as possible but not less.
