GE Refrigerator with a built-in barcode scanner for grocery lists

I don't think I need a new $4000 refrigerator with an ad-spewing tablet and barcode scanner.

I do think a $100 device with a barcode scanner and a tiny LCD screen that attaches magnetically to the fridge and has 3 buttons: "Buy More", "Empty", "Expired", where you scan an item then hit the appropriate button it syncs to a backend service that helps build shared grocery lists would be a winner.

> Brilliant Touch Display: A bright, interactive 8" touchscreen is easy to use and includes custom screen backgrounds, weather updates, and more.

This is ridiculous. Add to the list of things we don’t need.

GE refrigerators pwned via barcode exploit [the scan to save 20% sticker is bogus] /s

> not so sardonic, if it was pwnable, or broken, you could really hurt a lot of people, by letting thier food get warm and spoil then chilling it again.
