Google has seriously leaned into AI enshittification lately

As evidence, search for "How do I disable the 'beautify this slide' widget that keeps appearing in Google Slides?" The top results are a bunch of pages in support.google.com in which the weary support person says "You can't disable this" and closes the thread.

On the cloud side, I got the greatest slop deck from the Gemini Enterprise sales team. The rep certainly didn't look at most slides, especially the Cursed Claude with horrendous ai art and claims that "Claude 3 Opus" [sic] was a state of the art model we could use from vertex.

The CTO was buying Anthropic licenses later that afternoon.

i just went head to head with it, and it attempted to convince me that google is never wrong and cant be personally stopped or destroyed.

just chew on that for a bit, thats where google is heading, AI spokesthing operating according to a shadow of the real world.

this thing is going to gaslight its users into a nonreality that puts google in a self declared throne of infallable invicibility.
