A silly project using facial recognition

Hey everyone, I'm new here and I'm looking for some feedback.

A friend and I came up with this idea of an app (gaydetection.com) in which you upload a photo of a person or people and it shows you which person is gay based on some facial recognition algorithm, which is the result of analyzing a lot of photos of gay people.

It's supposed to be hilarious, just a fun way to spend time with your friends and see who made a gay face in some photo. But I guess it can come up as being somewhat homophobic. What do you guys think? Is it? I'm asking because I don't think it is, but I don't really know how a gay person would feel about this.
