Unlikable at least

If it walks like a fascist and it quacks like a fascist, then it must be a fascist

Fascist.. that word has been rendered impotent and meaningless right along with words like 'racist' and 'nazi' from the improper and hyper-over-use of these words by lunatics who toss them around like Oprah handing out shitbags to her audience. "YOU are a fascist and YOU are a fascist and YOU...!" while all the idiots clap and cheer.

On the one hand maybe? I mean plenty of non-profits expand how they spend their money from core mission to like supporting adjacent issues, and I’m not in any way defending or making a statement on DHH’s views which I think can be described using many words , but like “b tier tech celebrity creates a Linux distro to funnel tech funds to marginal right wing groups”

Is a weird conspiracy theory when funneling money to marginal right wing groups isn’t nearly the taboo it once was.

The thing is DHH isn’t a fascist: he doesn’t want a state controlling everything and certainly doesn’t want an ethnostate for whatever his ethnicity is. That’s a bizarre and very serious claim to make. He’s just a normal person that happens to be right wing.

It’s presumptuous of you to claim to know someone’s inner motivations which ever direction you’re trying to take it.

You're correct but misguided, in that it's presumptuous to claim someone's inner motivations are evil as the GNOME team are doing.

It is reasonable of people to think DHH is not a fascist as there's no evidence to support him being one.

Does the GNOME founder think Omarchy is the SPLC or something?

If Lunduke is calling something a conspiracy theory, it probably isn’t. This guy has been playing for a right wing grifting gig but he’s just too unlikable.

The screenshots are real, if you have evidence that DHH is somehow a fascist post it here.

Like his actual words against the Roma? I don’t know about fascist but he’s definitely a self-identifying fucking racist.

He wanted them deported for camping permanently in public spaces? If you think people have no choice to do that based on their race we both know who the racist is.

Is there already a law against camping in public spaces? Apply that law. Any treatment of groups other than according to the law (when the law itself makes no mention of a discriminating attribute) is racism/sexism/etc. One law for all right?

Are you under the impression that I am the co-founder of GNOME?

I was speaking to the conspiracy theory here, that the donations to Omarchy are just a passthrough to unsavory organizations.

It’s, at least, plausible to me for two reasons.

1. Omarchy is just a pre-configured Arch install and doesn’t require large donations for maintenance.

2. The donators (Lutke and Dell) are all Trump-adjacent or have expressed authoritarian views in the past. Lutke, for example, advocates stripping poor people of the right to vote and giving the rich more votes.

> Are you under the impression that I am the co-founder of GNOME?

no. Nothing I have said would indicate that. You wrote:

Hence asking if you have any evidence that DHH is a fascist. You then started talking about someone else.

The conspiracy isn’t that DHH is a fascist.

He has dehumanized minorities and alluded to using violence against them. I’m not interested in debating whether or not that’s fascist or not. It’s shitty behavior indicative of the modern far right.

The conspiracy theory is that these donations aren’t tech related but are dressed up to be. And that I find plausible given the behaviors of the modern right.
