    > ...considering their realistically the only American car companies that make their cars in the US

Rivian says "Hi"

View on HN

Lucid is also American made, no?

It is, but I view it as more of a niche company and product still whereas Rivian has commercial products (Amazon) as well as mainstream consumer products like the R2 (shipping) and R3 (in pipeline). Still on the high end, but clearly moving mass market as their production capacity ramps up. Not sure about Lucid.

Shh dont stop the fanbois from eating feet.

both of them are too expensive for my taste. tesla is the only one i could afford. its a shame.

Never heard of them. But if they are made in America I will keep them in my mind when/if I buy a new car.

RJ Scaringe (CEO) is who everyone thought Elon was in the early days.

Really good listen:

Thanks will listen to that on way to work.

Surprised you haven't heard of Rivian. I've been seeing them for a few years now. Caught my eye with first with the "Now I don't recognize that! What is it?"
