they're targeting iOS to begin with. there's no such thing as one solution for both platforms. even web UIs need separate code & QA for safari.

There would be one solution, if Apple actually proposed having one and formed a standards body, and made one solution with Google and ticketing companies and the rest of the industry. That they don't shows they don't care about customers.

9/10 standards bodies are useless and make the platform worse

sure, but we eventually got Apple to adopt USB-C over Lightning for iPhones. Now you don't need a special cable just to charge your iPhone.

I was going to use usb C as a bad example.

grab a few usb c cables from your bin. and tell me which ones have data, USB 3/3.1 , 100+watts capability, hdmi support, or any other number of capabilities.

MFi lighting cables always worked.

None of those things matter to me, since I can now charge my headphones, MacBook, iPhone and Pixel tablet with the same cable. MFi didn’t help me.

Makes traveling much less stressful.
