Though some services do already block traffic originating from popular hosting providers like AWS out of fears of bots.

There's fears of bots and there's actual bots. My custom WAF blocks 500 requests per second, and let's through 2. There should be nearly zero false positives with the detection method I'm using.

I can't share the detection method for obvious reasons.

There’s no such thing as a fool proof method. Anyone who claims there is, is vastly exaggerating their capabilities.
