To me most representatives of EA resemble people that read about goodness in the book, formulated some notion of it solely through that reading, and then designed an approach to bring it to life. Purely intellectual, not something experienced and lived through, what is the case for the normal people. Very uncanny, like psychopaths learning about empathy from the lecture, and then deciding they would become empathetic based on the notes they took.

Their morality is like musicality of someone that learned how to read sheet music and learned how every note sounds like or even how whole chords sound like, but never heard any music being played. Music is not about computing harmonic formula, and goodness is not about solving utility equation.
