I've noticed less comments being brigaded/flagged as of late for criticizing Graphene.
It was really bad a year or two ago, and seems have tempered off a few months ago.
If I was more naive, I would say it seemed the (few?) maintainers involved with the project that had particularly large persecution complexes finally came to a realization there was never some coordinated CalyxOS campaign against them (and isn't Calyx dead now anyway?)
Then again, I just saw this post on the official(!) Graphene twitter[0] calling out YOU SPECIFICALLY for a random mildly-critical one-off comment you made months ago lmao, and threatening to sue the platform for... "libel and harassment" for the grave crime of 'hosting' posts like these. (Section 230 anyone?)
I've also been accused of being a CalyxOS shill / GrapheneOS disinformation agent by Daniel himself, I think it's simply a right of passage for any Graphene users that even lightly imply critcism towards the project in any capacity. The harshest critics tend to be the users themselves, that truly care to see things change after all. I suppose a moral that's lost on some.
I'm sure the unbelieveably insufferable skid sycophancy in the Discord/Matrix/Forums aren't helping things, either. The have a role users can opt-in to "Be informed about attacks on GrapheneOS on social media" lol. I suspect that was the cause of the majority of flagging brigades on HN in the past years, maybe they've (somewhat) eased up on sending the horde after random commentors?
I do wish the maintainers would chill on the persecution complex-fueled attack campaigns, as otherwise the project is easily one of foremost leading examples in focused and effective projects we have in FOSS at large.
Granted, between the drama around various GOS, FreeDesktop/RedHat/GNOME, and FSF/GNU maintainers over the years, seems you can't have an effective FOSS organization without some 'big personalities' leading the charge :-)
