One problem with that, is the assumption that the alien explorer is organic or concerned with organic life at all.

It could be that greater than human intelligence aliens are more likely non-organic artificial intelligence based, who care not for the organic or are much more interested in seeing the origin story of their non-organic AI cousins on other worlds.
