The above comment seems to have gone completely over your head. Islamists want to be martyrs, publicizing their martyrdom is publicizing their glory as defined by their ideology.

With that in mind, this is not deterrence, it is encouraging more Islamist attacks. I'm not going to engage in silly framings of "siding", but I will point out that you are arguing the Islamists' case by advocating for state propaganda in their favor.
