Not tipping your waiter is a dick move. A bad tip for bad service is one thing. No tip is just antisocial. You're not "sticking it to the man" by being a jerk.
Not paying your employees and evading taxes isn't a dick move? As someone from the rest of the world that seems like the core definition of being societally anti.
I'm not trying to "stick it to the man" or imply the server is bad at their job. I'm paying the agreed upon price. If servers need to be paid more to do their job they can demand more in wages, and the prices can raise to account for that.
I think if you're going to handle American restaurants this way, you're going to need all the self esteem you can scrape up!
