Isn't exactly the beauty of IRC that one person doing something to one node in the network isn't affecting the rest at all?
I can't be bothered to sign up for both libera and oftc. When everything was on freenode, you didn't have to jump through any hoops just to ask a question.
You don't need to "sign up". You just open your client, connect to the server and ask your question.
Is it really that hard to register a nick on two (or 3 or 5) networks one time in just a few minutes and then set them to autoconnect?
all of the Freenode staff just rebranded as Libera Chat, bought a new domain and continued on as usual.
