If you buy an annual subscription of course you have to pay for the whole year. They offer a monthly subscription for people who don't want to lock in for such a long time.
What they offer is an annual subscription on a monthly fee, which is a pretty deceptive offer
Isn’t basically every typical residential lease advertised exactly that way?
"Why are my apples harder to peel than my oranges?"
Good point, Adobe MBAs: Make the commitment 30 years just like your mortgage.
No, while they've been deceptive with how the "annual, billed monthly" plans were advertised — and previously without clear disclosure of the cancellation fee of 50% of the remaining annual commitment — they've always had monthly plans. It's just that the true monthly plans were 3x to 4x the price of the "annual, billed monthly" plans, which was ridiculous and intended to discourage people from going for those plans. I've been an Adobe CC subscriber for more than a decade. The only thing that keeps me with them is that Photoshop has no real alternative that's equally powerful. Hate the company but let's get our facts right.
