If you don't know the difference you're absolutely in the population of people who should not be using their personal laptop for work.
I expect a lot of people are using Microsoft apps which do their sandboxing at the app level, coordinated with Authenticator, and not MDM. Ends up with the same level of control of company data but no device level control.
