You skipped over the part where the cancel button isn't on the front page of literally any website. It's somewhere in account/settings/subscription/edit. No word if this is allowed under NYC's desired regime. I don't have a lot of faith in their reasonableness, considering the politicians that are getting elected there these days.

It should be in every page of the subscribe option is on every page. Simple.

Why would the cancel button need to be on the front page? It’s not like there’s a one-click signup button on the front page.

There is on many web sites - since they pop-up a form asking you to subscribe when you visit.

Find me one web site that lets you sign up in one click.

Plenty of sites have a sign up button on the front page. That's going to take you to a form where you create an account and put in payment info. It's inherently a multi-step process since it requires multiple pieces of info.

You think there aren't sign up buttons on the front page of websites?

You think those buttons sign you up for a paid service with a single click?
