We (humans) have been moving up the stack since...well, forever. Or at least since we started writing things down.

We aren't all dead yet. (And we ain't just hunter-gatherers no more, neither!)

Difference is humans arent on the top of the stack anymore, AI is.

So the AI is on top? Someone had better make a plan to go back from the future and keep Sarah Connor safe or we're all just fucked!

Or maybe instead: Someone has already done that and that is why we're not presently fucked.

Or, more realistically: The sky is not actually falling, just as it has also not fallen with any previous introduction of automation.
