Which is what the developer should actually be paying attention to, but I suppose they are just adding features for the sake of adding features.

They can do what they want. That "should" doesn't belong here.

Huh? Yeah, of course they can do what they want. That does not preclude me from having an opinion about what they should prioritize. I am criticizing their product decisions, not claiming they are not free to make them...

They can do what they want, but from a user perspective they should be doing something else. Seems like a perfectly fine way to use that word to me.
