The CLI takes 1GB of memory when like you said, it just "fires off to the model".

It's easily noticeable. Codex don't take half as much most times.

For a while just having an indle conversation open in the background would make my PC go very hot. This seems fixed now but that's definitely not the only performance issue I've faced.

Also, the fact that they managed to leak their own code base, twice, tells you all you need to know about software quality at Anthropic.

The shiny lighting animation that runs on the spinner verb runs at an abysmal fps. 20 fps max, and it stutters quite often for me. Not important functionality wise, but it is quite ugly.
