Linux has millions of man-hours worth of code. Did it help Linux become a mainstream consumer platform?

However it did help Linux power approximately 70% of servers in the entire world.

Servers running Linux are not desktop computers in direct competition with macOS. They cannot be configured as macOS clones.

Come to think of it, the only people who I know of who use Linux as a desktop OS are people in the technical fields: my college CS professors, InfoSec friends, etc. None are just the average person, technically-speaking.

Why are you going on about linux on the desktop? This thread is about people being able to vibe code a MacOS clone, and judging by the speed at which things are progressing Im guessing that one day they will successfully be able to do that.

Just the other day someone got modern Nvidia cards running on hackintos!

Yeah well it has nothing to do with the argument. Consumer Linux not being mainstream isn’t not due to lack of trying.
