SVGs are mostly used for icons and polygonal images, because that's what they're good at. The entire point of using vector graphics over raster is to take advantage of the fact that for low-poly objects, SVGs are much smaller. Icony-ness is definitely implied by the specification of format here.

At least when I think SVG I think stylized and simple to reduce the size of the file and keep scaling. What first comes to mind for me is you don't want photorealism or you'd just ask for a picture.
