Is Apple tracking you here? Seems like you are using a free product which advertises its paid-variant. That's a far cry from targeted ads via tracking and profiling.
Tracking is indeed one of the complaints people have about ads, and this ad is most likely not a tracking-based one. But there are a lot more complaints about ads, such as mental manipulation and attention distraction. I personally am against all ads whether they are tracked or not.
