Call me out of touch but this reads a lot like someone who could have used an advocate or standing up for themselves. How is this really long piece which drags you to the obvious conclusion not ending with them standing up for themselves? Guess you win. Something.

I mean, maybe?

I am generally not someone who is afraid to call out bullshit, but with medicine I am pretty much at their mercy. I kind of have to assume that they are telling the truth because I don’t know anything about medicine.

It’s hard to call bullshit on someone if you’re not sure what they are saying is bullshit.

Oh, sorry if it came out that harsh. I more mean, if you're going to insist on being a passenger even after multiple drivers have crashed your jaw into walls, I don't know there's a fix for it.
